Governmental Affairs Day is nearing
Make plans to attend CNPA’s 20th Annual Governmental Affairs Day on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at the Sacramento Convention Center. Don’t miss the chance to meet and interact with California’s legislators and legislative leaders.
Senate President pro Tem Kevin deLeon (D-Los Angeles), Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood), Assembly Republican Leader Chad Mayes (R-Yucca Valley) and Senate Republican Leader Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield) have been invited to be our guests throughout the day, and all legislators and constitutional officers are invited to an evening reception at the Capitol Building. Gov. Jerry Brown has been invited to keynote the day’s events.
The day’s events start at 10 a.m. and end at 7 p.m.
CNPA is partnering with California Black Media and the National Association of Hispanic Publications to host this must-attend event.
Staff expects this tumultuous political climate to produce several bills that could threaten the public’s right to know and newspaper’s business operations. Your participation at Governmental Affairs Day is essential and demonstrates to legislators and other public officials that newspapers’ influence on the development of public policy in California is alive and well. Please invite your key staff to accompany you.
To register, go here. If you sign up by Feb. 1, the cost for both the lunch and the evening reception is $59. After the early bird deadline, the cost increases to $75.
Discount hotel reservations are available at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento at a rate of $195/night through Jan. 13 for both Governmental Affairs Day on Feb. 15 and the CNPA Quarterly Meeting on Feb. 16. Click here for reservations.
