Public-notice webinar is Jan. 25
The newspaper industry has had a lot of success protecting public notice in the state legislatures, but collectively we’re on the defensive. Our opponents are more motivated than ever and increasingly sophisticated in their arguments. It’s more important than ever that every newspaper play a role in this fight.
An Inland Press Association webinar next Wednesday, Jan. 25 will focus on the state of public notice and the best practices that every publisher should follow to help the industry maintain its rightful position as the publisher of official notice of public actions.
This webinar will be presented by three industry figures who know their way around the public notice issue.
Eric Barnes’ The Daily News Publishing Company is the largest publisher of public notices in Tennessee. He is also president of American Court and Commercial Newspapers.
Richard Karpel’s association management company, APW, represents the Public Notice Resource Center, American Court and Commercial Newspapers and other newspaper-industry clients. He is a former executive director of the American Society of News Editors and the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies.
Brad Thompson’s Detroit Legal News Co. publishes ten legal newspapers in Michigan. He is the current president of the Public Notice Resource Center. Join this webinar Wednesday, January 25 and learn how to best protect the public notices that play a key role in keeping government transparent — and provide an important revenue source.
CNPA is a co-sponsoring organization for Inland Press Association webinars.
