Bill that threatens public notices not yet scheduled for hearing

Legislation that threatens public notices required to be placed by sanitation districts in newspapers of general circulation has not yet been set for a committee hearing.

AB 2003 by Assemblyman Tom Daly (D-Huntington Beach), would repeal existing newspaper publication requirements for competitive bidding for the purchase of goods, equipment, material and services for a sanitation district and allow districts to choose which media in which it wants to place the notices.

CNPA staff request that publishers continue to personally call their own Assembly member and each member of the Assembly Local Government committee. For more detailed information, click here.

Stay tuned to future Legislative Bulletins for more information about when the hearing is scheduled and CNPA’s big push to defeat AB 2003.
