The 2023 California Journalism Awards is accepting entries now. The contest, open to all CNPA Members, closes Feb. 13.
What’s new and what should you know?
Four upcoming webinars will acquaint contest coordinators with the changes. CNPA staff and leadership will share ways to ease your contest process.
There are three main changes this year. They are:
- The merger of the Print and Digital contests into one Pro contest, making for inclusive and balanced competition across the membership.
- Revised General Excellence criteria to ensure recognition of the best work by newsrooms of all sizes.
- And 14 new journalism categories, plus six additional categories that aim to help publishers earn recognition for their audience, community and innovation work:
The webinars will cover these new features along with logistical details, advice to new contest coordinators and advice from veteran entrants.
Webinars are 45 minutes; attend one that fits your schedule:
10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19
4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan 23
9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2
