    Entry Title: Online Octagon

Judge Comment: A very nice combination of news, features and sports. Fine graphics; overall nice look. Stories on new faculty member, golf and tennis teams, history day all work well.
  • Place Name: Second Place
Contestant Name: Granite Bay High School-The Gazette
    Entry Title: GraniteBayToday.org
Entry Credit: Granite Bay Today Staffers
Judge Comment: You have to appreciate the candor of a story called "Covering campus life when there's nothing to cover." Nice. Good work from Ali Juell on cultural identity. Good features on baseball player, other athlete. Could have used photo at top instead of just picture of school.
  • Place Name: Third Place
Contestant Name: Archbishop Riordan High School-The Crusader
    Entry Title: RCrusaderNews
Entry Credit: Steven Rissotto , Antonio Maffei, Jordan Maralit, Grayson Salomon
Judge Comment: Some time problems here. There's a story on Joe Biden beating Donald Trump that's dated Feb. 12, but Mr. Biden defeated Mr. Trump in November. Same thing with the story on the Jan. 6 insurgent mob. That's just not news in March. I recognize the deadline problems when a paper is published infrequently, but you can't go with news stories that are months old.
  • Place Name: Fourth Place
Contestant Name: Castro Valley High School-The Olympian
    Entry Title: The Olympian
    Entry Credit: The Olympian
Judge Comment: Maybe this is just hard to navigate or maybe there's just a glitch, but the primary content appears to be mug shots of people. The other entries have much more news content.
