Judge Comment: The layers in this photo are excellent, giving it a lot to look at. Swimmer, wave and background made it easy to understand this was a swimming race in the ocean. Perfect pick as a main image on a website page.
  • Competition Comment: This category had very strong entries given 'feature photo' covers so many types of photos. Two of the winning photos had light sports themes, but clearly were feature photos. Strong technical quality and use of unique lighting were themes throughout. First place was also an excellent feature portrait that had all the elements for a strong visual. Especially the use of lighting and strong emotion. 2nd place had high graphic appeal where the subject was perfectly positioned. 3rd place worked well because of so many layers of elements. Swimmer, wave, swimmers in the background.
