  • Place Name: First Place
    Contestant Name: Capital & Main
Entry Title: While Affordable Housing Disappears Citywide, a Tenants’ Group Goes Big
    Entry Credit: Jack Ross
Judge Comment: A deeply-reported and interesting look at how affordable housing can fall short.
  • Place Name: Second Place
    Contestant Name: Fresnoland
    Entry Title: Southwest Fresno rezoning
Entry Credit: Dympna Ugwu-Oju, Gregory Weaver
Judge Comment: Dympna Ugwu-Oju's five entries are solid and thoroughly-reported. It's great to see so much follow-up on a story of community importance. Gregory Weaver's entry should be separate, since it's a completely different story, though I'm not going to penalize Ugwu-Oju for this.
  • Place Name: Third Place
    Contestant Name: The Six Fifty
Entry Title: Why Sweet Farm fled Half Moon Bay for the East Coast with its llamas, piglets and turkeys in tow
    Entry Credit: Anthony Shu
Judge Comment: This is a fun story and the writing is excellent.
  • Competition Comment: All in all, there were several good stories here. These three represent the best of the bunch.
