  • Place Name: First Place
    Contestant Name: San Francisco Examiner
Entry Title: Crisis at Laguna Honda Hospital
    Entry Credit: Sydney Johnson
Judge Comment: Excellent reporting by Sydney Johnson, clear-eyed and clearly articulated. This is a great example of a thorough reporter asking good questions and raising awareness about an important, even life-threatening story happening in the community. The follow-up/follow-through is so important with these types of stories, and Johnson does a fine job of keeping on top of this one. A pleasure to read.
