Thank you to the 33 CNPA Members and friends who joined our “2020 Vision” webinar on Friday morning, May 29.

During the hour, new President and CEO Chuck Champion explained his plans for broadening the reach and impact of the organization and featured some of the programs and projects being undertaken by the Operations Committee at CNPA Services Inc.

Champion also declared his personal feelings for California news gathering and encouraged members to keep up and join in as CNPA moves the industry forward during trying times:

“I think it’s going to take all of us to remember what we’re here for,” Champion said. “What we’re in it for, and that is to go out, find the stories, tell the stories and enhance people’s lives as a result of those stories.

“I also go into it with a bias. … The bias I have is simply this one: The news is better collected by newspaper reporters and trained journalists. That’s been proven over the years. It’s information that has been tested, reviewed, vetted on and it has organizations behind it that stand up for it. I believe that’s going to become more valuable as the days and weeks move along.”
