CNPA‘s Advertising Services division announced today that its network of classified advertising has attracted 28 new members, an increase of 10%, since the beginning of the year. The network now has 271 partners that earn 55% commission on each classified ad placement.

In the past six months, Ad Services has placed 1,676 direct-placement ads in 676 member newspapers and paid out $2.9 million to publishers.

In addition to the commission on ads that members upsell to the network, the classified program includes the following features:

•      Ads run one time in a one-week timeframe.
•      CNPA staff emails ad flights each Tuesday before the week that starts on Sunday.
•      Classified liner (Cal-SCAN) ads are provided in block format upon request.
•      Random audits to ensure the program’s integrity and rebate payout.
•      Semi-annual rebates paid in July and January based on the proportionate share of revenue in the rebate pool.
“These advertising networks were created as a funding mechanism to generate incremental revenue and new business for our publishers,” said Cecilia Drake, CNPA’s director of Advertising. “The association’s share of revenue helps to support the industry’s advocacy efforts as well as other member services.”

CNPA has been connecting newspapers and advertisers for more than 30 years, statewide and beyond. The Advertising Network operates as a sales force for publishers interested in generating new revenue.
