CNPA Nominating Committee appointed

CNPA President Ron Hasse has selected members of the Nominating Committee, which will create a slate of officers and board director nominees to be elected at CNPA’s Annual Business meeting, to be held during The Capital Conference (formerly known as the CNPA Press Summit) in February 2019.

Nominating Committee members are:

  • Chairman Chuck Champion, Acorn Newspapers, Agoura Hills
  • Paulette Brown-Hinds, Black Voice News, Riverside
  • Dean Eckenroth, Coronado Eagle & Journal
  • Will Fleet, Tracy Press
  • Bill Johnson, Palo Alto Weekly

The nominations the committee makes are representative of the association’s Active members.

Alternative nominations may be submitted by representatives of at least 3 percent of CNPA’s Active members. These nominations must be submitted by Jan. 21, 2019, 15 days before the annual business meeting begins.

Chuck Champion, the committee chairman, recently became vice president of Community Affairs at Acorn Newspapers. Champion, who continues as the CNPA Board of Directors’ vice president/secretary-treasurer, is a former president and publisher of the Santa Clarita Valley Signal.
