Dan Barnett

Dan Barnett, a former owner and publisher of the Amador Dispatch, died May 28, 2019, the Ledger Dispatch reports. He was 83.

Barnett began as editor of The Dispatch in 1964 and acquired ownership of the company a year later.

He worked with Mike Bohl to merge The Dispatch with the Amador Ledger and the Ione Progress/News into Gold Web Publications in 1979, and continued to own and operate the paper until 1989.
