Registration is now open for the Feb. 5-6 CNPA Capital Conference, themed “The State of News: Truth, Technology, Transformation.”
The conference committee has just announced that if you register before Dec. 31, you can still receive the early-bird rates. That’s a savings of up to $50 per person. On Jan. 1, the price goes up, so don’t delay: register as many as you like; send us the names later.
The Capital Conference will combine the annual Governmental Affairs Day and Annual Press Summit into a single event. It will feature discussions and presentations on sustainable business models, reporting on California, and conversations with some of California’s most dynamic leaders.
CNPA will also present its first “Free Speech Champion” Award to a member of the Legislature who has been a supporter of the First Amendment rights of the press.
Another change to remember is that CNPA will present its annual journalism awards at the first-ever California Journalism Awards Gala on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at The Westin Long Beach. The awards previously were presented on the final day of the CNPA Press Summit. (For entry information, see next item.)
