Five are finalists for internship grants

Five are finalists for internship grants

Five students have been confirmed for California Press Foundation internship grants in 2021.

Quill (1)The students, who demonstrated an exceptional interest in pursuing careers in the news business in California, will receive a $2,500 educational grant when they begin their internship.

The students are required to pursue and secure the internships on their own at CNPA-member companies. Internships, which can occur in spring or summer, must be full time and last at least six weeks.

The 2021 newsroom internship finalists, their hometowns and colleges are:

Tyler Breisacher, San Francisco; City College of San Francisco
Margo Rosenbaum, Piedmont; UC Davis
Muhammad Shaikh, Clovis; CSU Fresno
Katherine Swartz, Ripon; UC Santa Barbara

The 2021 advertising/marketing internship finalist is Carl Schoemig, Palm Springs; College of the Desert, Palm Desert.

Applications are accepted each Fall from full-time 3.0+ GPA college sophomores, juniors or seniors pursuing news, advertising or marketing careers.
