10:15-10:45 a.m. — President pro Tem-Elect Toni Atkins (D-San Diego)

10:45-11:15 a.m. — Assemblyman Mark Stone (D-Monterey Bay), chair of the Assembly Judiciary Committee

11:15-11:45 a.m. — Assemblyman Chad Mayes (R-Yucca Valley)

11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. — Senate Republican Leader Pat Bates (R-Laguna Niguel)

12:30-1:30 p.m. — Buffet Lunch

1:30-2:30 p.m. — Keynote Panel: Christina Bellantoni, assistant managing editor, politics, Los Angeles Times, will lead a discussion on the perspectives of seasoned lobbyists on what makes an effective lobbyist, how the media affects their work and several other related topics.

Legislative Appointments

3-5 p.m. — Schedule individual meetings with your local district Assembly members and Senators or other key legislators about important issues in your home town and California.

5:30-7:30 p.m. — Mix and mingle with California legislators and their chief staff at a reception in the basement of the Capitol Building. We will serve beer and wine at the bar with plenty of heavy appetizers. Governor Jerry Brown is invited.

CNPA Quarterly Meeting

8 a.m.-4 p.m. — All members are invited to participate at the CNPA Quarterly Board of Directors Meeting. Please register to attend. Cost is $49/person and includes continental breakfast and lunch.


REGISTRATION

Registration is available to CNPA Members and students as well as sponsor guests and invited participants.

Cost is $59/person and includes Governmental Affairs Day buffet luncheon at the Sacramento Convention Center, appointment setting with your local legislators in the Capitol Building and admission to the Legislative Reception in the Capitol Basement Rotunda.

Members and guests are encouraged to sponsor student attendee registrations for local high school and college student journalists who may wish to also attend the event in Sacramento. Students are invited to come with their teachers and/or professors as a learning experience to attend a conference and report on the event to their school papers.

“Reception Only” tickets may be purchased for $20 by members and/or guests who will only attend the reception that evening.

Separate registration is additionally required for members attending the CNPA Quarterly Board Meeting on Thursday, February 22 at $49/person for continental breakfast and lunch.
