Gustus, Nagel to CNPA Board

CNPA Chairman Simon Grieve has appointed CNPA-Member news executives Lauren Gustus and Bill Nagel to the CNPABoard of Directors.

Gustus is president/West editor at The Sacramento Bee and director of Community Funding for McClatchy. She joined the Sacramento team in February 2018 and previously was executive editor and vice president at the Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram. Gustus succeeded director Gary Wortel, who left McClatchy in April.

Nagel has been publisher of Hearst’s San Francisco Chronicle since 2018. Previously, he was executive vice president at Tribune Publishing and the Los Angeles Times and has worked in executive roles at Cox Media and The San Diego Union-Tribune. Nagel succeeds John Diaz, The Chronicle’s editorial opinion editor, who had been a CNPAdirector since 2018.
