Hodel turns 100 on July 18

UnnamedMel Hodell, the former newspaper owner and broker, and a longtime supporter of CNPA and the California Press Foundation, turns 100 on July 18.

Hodell’s career as a publisher, of weeklies in the Inland Empire, was followed by more than 35 years as a broker of newspaper sales. He also took part in many CNPA workshops and events, and is a sustaining supporter of Cal Press. He received its Philip N. McCombs Achievement Award in 2010.

CNPA Associate Member Gregg Knowles, a longtime colleague of Hodell’s, suggests that friends and former associates send birthday cards to: Mr. Mel Hodell, 1388 N. Euclid Ave., Upland CA 91786.
