John Edmands, 93

John Edmands, 93

John Edmands, editor and publisher of the old Pleasanton Times from the 1950s until he sold it to Contra Costa Times Publisher Dean Lesher some 30 years later, died April 8, 2017, in England, The Independent in Livermore reported. He was 93.

“Publishers in that day were actively engaged in their community, striving to make the local economy better, to improve the community and to see it grow,” former Tri-Valley Herald Editor Tim Hunt recalls in his blog for the Pleasanton Weekly. “Their business would grow with it. That was certainly the case for John.”
