The News Media Alliance requests that CNPA Members publish an editorial this week in support of the Journalism Competition & Preservation Act, the bipartisan bill that aims to ensure news publishers receive fair compensation from Google and Facebook for use of their original content.

“We are still advocating for this legislation to be moved forward however possible, be passed into law by year’s end so that U.S. news publishers are in parity with news publishers who are being paid in other countries where similar laws have passed and are working around the world,” the NMA’s appeal said.

CNPA is among the Act’s institutional supporters. Details and op-eds by participating newspapers are here.
