Media consultant Mike Blinder plans to publish Editor & Publisher, a CNPA Allied Member, under a new company called The Curated Experiences Group, E&P reports in a news release. The sale closed Aug. 30, transferring it from Duncan McIntosh Co. Inc., which had owned E&P since 2010.

Blinder, who has a background in broadcast, digital and print, plans to continue E&P as a monthly and aims to add podcast content that would appeal to a broader E&P audience.

“I want the digital geek who publishes a blog to come to me to learn how to monetize that blog,” Blinder told Forbes. “But I also want the guy with two Pulitzers to come to me.”

Blinder, who heads the Florida-based Blinder Group, has been a conference speaker and trainer for CNPA several times in recent years, most recently at its annual summit in Sonoma in 2018.

Nu Yang, former managing editor, will serve as E&P’s new editor-in-chief, and former assistant editor Evelyn Mateos will now serve as managing editor. The October 2019 issue will be the first under the new ownership.

Editor and Associate Publisher Jeff Fleming will remain with McIntosh’s company. Its publications include Sea magazine, Boating World magazine, The Log newspaper and OC Weekly.

Grimes, McGovern & Associates represented McIntosh in the sale.
