Last week, Marjorie Pritchard, the Boston Globe’s deputy editorial page editor, called on editorialists nationwide to weigh in with unique local messages about the administration’s assault on the press.
“The dirty war on the free press must end,” the call to action said.
“Publications, whatever their politics, could make a powerful statement by standing together in the common defense of their profession and the vital role it plays in government for and by the people.”
More than 350 news organizations took part. The News Media Alliance linked to more than 200 of them.
