Ogden Newspapers to acquire Swift

West Virginia-based Ogden Newspapers will acquire the assets of Carson City, Nev.-based Swift Communications, the Tahoe Daily Tribune reports.

In California, Swift also publishes The Union in Grass Valley and Sierra Sun in Truckee.

With the acquisition, Ogden Newspapers will publish 54 daily newspapers and a number of weekly newspapers and magazines in 18 states.
