“CNPA proudly signed on to a letter, along with 115 other news media organizations, that was submitted this morning to the Minnesota officials this morning by the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, deploring the police use of force against journalists covering the protests and civil unrest in response to the slaying of George Floyd. This letter further emphasizes to officials that the right to cover police activity is a foundation of our democracy and reminds them that their officers do not retain immunity when they specifically target reporters covering these events.”
