The Observer Newspapers has applied for Active membership in CNPA. Larry Lee is publisher and president of the Sacramento-based Observer weekly. The Observer, which circulates nearly 40,000 copies each Friday, was founded in 1962.“Our publications matter just as much today as they did when they were established in 1962,” Lee wrote in a publisher’s message. “Over the last half-century, we have both observed and inspired tremendous advances among the region’s African American community. We continue to provide relevant news and service for an audience whose appetite for meaningful information and content go unmet by mainstream media.”The applicant looks to CNPA membership for advertising opportunities, events, contest eligibility and advocacy.Until confirmation by the CNPA Board of Directors, the applicant is a provisional member of CNPA and eligible for all the benefits of membership.
