Veteran publisher Tom Silvestri will direct the Relevance Project, America’s Newspapers reported.
The project was formed by members of Newspaper Association Managers Inc., to strengthen the industry’s unique role as the provider of quality journalism and the keeper of public forums for thousands of communities across the continent.
CNPA is a member of NAM, formed in 1923 as a coalition of state, provincial and national trade groups representing the newspaper media industry in the United States and Canada.
Silvestri most recently was president and publisher of the Richmond (Va.) Times-Dispatch. He received the top leadership award in 2018 from the Southern Newspaper Publishers Association.
