Stephen Laxineta

Stephen Laxineta, 2002 CNPA President, died July 19, 2019.

Laxineta was the former president and CEO of The Beach Reporter in Manhattan Beach.

“While Steve was a valued colleague, business partner, mentor and friend, he meant so much more to me,” said Will Fleet, a CNPA board member and publisher of the Tracy Press. “He was family, and I will miss him tremendously.”

Under Laxineta’s presidency, CNPA sponsored electronic access legislation, solidified a new long-range plan for CNPA’s future, and worked on the possibility of a name change for the association.

“CNPA board members will remember Steve for his sense of humor and razor wit. He was one of the leaders that brought fiscal stability to the organization in his era,” Fleet said.
