The peer-judging period for the 2021 California Journalism Awards ended Monday, April 18.

Members entering the contests provided judges, with quantity based upon circulation size. Judges do not have to be employees of entrants’ publications as long as they are experienced journalists.

Next, a group of journalists from outside California will judge these categories: General Excellence, Enterprise News Story or Series, Feature Story, In-Depth Reporting, Investigative Reporting and Public Service Journalism.

Contest results will be announced after April 28.
