The right to know: Los Angeles Times

A federal judge on Tuesday reversed a U.S. District judge’s order requiring the Los Angeles Times to remove information in an article about a former Glendale police detective accused of working with the Mexican Mafia, The Times reports.

The district judge on Sunday had issued a prior restraint against The Times ordering it to remove anything from an article it had published that referred to the contents of a sealed plea agreement.

CNPA joined 58 other media organizations on a petition filed by the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press proposing to file a friend-of-the-court brief in favor of The Times.
