The Westside Express debuts

News

Dos Palos Publishing Company has produced three weekly issues of The Westside Express since launching May 25, Publisher Gene Lieb reports.

The Wednesday newspaper aims to provide news and information for Dos Palos, Firebaugh, Los Banos and Santa Nella. It succeeds the Dos Palos Sun, which had covered that western Merced County community since 1995.

Lieb, former publisher of the Los Banos Enterprise, has contracted with Manteca-based 209 Multimedia for administrative and production services. A press run of 3,000 copies is mailed to subscribers and offered inside area businesses.

“In expanding this publication we are planning to show the community that we still believe in local journalism and the role it plays in every community,” said Lieb, a former CNPA Board director.
