Time to gather contest entries

CNPA Web Main Images (35)The deadline seems like a long time from now, but it’s never too early to start gathering what you might want to enter this year in the California Journalism Awards contest.

Deadline for entries is 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2022. To provide more flexibility for members, CNPA has added an extended deadline of 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2022, but entry fees will be doubled after Feb. 21.

By now, CNPA members should have received their 2021 contest rules and information booklets containing details of the contest. If not, you may download them:

It’s the first year that individual freelance journalists are given the opportunity to enter work that was published by CNPA-Member outlets.

Entries can be made at For further information visit or contact Contest Administrator Jason Schaff.
