To protect and serve the common interests of its newsmedia members, to help members inform and thereby strengthen their communities, and to foster the highest ideals, ethics and traditions of journalism, a free press and the news profession.

Two apply for CNPA membership

Two apply for CNPA membership

Alianza Metropolitan News has applied for Active membership in CNPA.

Rossana Drumond is publisher of the San Jose-based twice-monthly, founded in 1986.

Ethnic Media Services has applied for Digital membership in CNPA.
Sandy Close is founder of the San Francisco-based site, which publishes original content. The organization began in 2018.

Until confirmation by the CNPA Board of Directors, the applicants are provisional members of CNPA and are eligible for all the benefits of membership.

In their applications, the prospective members indicated their reasons for joining CNPA include helping to protect the interests of California news media at the State Capitol, utilizing CNPA’s free Legal Help Line and entering the California Journalism Awards.
