Two McClatchy papers to cut frequency

The Modesto Bee and The Tribune in San Luis Obispo will convert their Saturday and Sunday products to a single weekend edition starting in November, Publisher Tim Ritchey said in a note to readers.

“We are making this strategic change to invest in our future and to continue to be your source of news and information on all the platforms you choose,” said Ritchey, McClatchy’s group publisher for the region.

“We are dedicated to providing this community, one we care deeply about, with independent, fact-based news and solutions for local businesses that help us all thrive and grow for many years to come. This is another step to make progress toward this goal.”
