Two public-records workshops set for May 20 at CNPA Press Summit

Saturday morning at the CNPA Press Summit in Santa Monica offers two media-law workshops regarding delays in public-records requests and how to access the emails of public officials.

Members who register for the Better Newspapers Contest Awards Luncheon and Show may attend the morning program at no extra charge.

Presenters of the first segment, “Strengthening the Public Records Act,” will be Jeff Glasser, senior counsel, Los Angeles Times; David Snyder, executive director, First Amendment Coalition; and Nikki Moore, CNPA legal counsel and legislative advocate.

Following that panel will be “Emails & the Public Records Act,” which will offer guidance on accessing the email records of public officials.

The CNPA Press Summit is May 18-20 at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel.
