UnnamedThese are tough times for our industry, but that hasn’t slowed anybody down. California publications keep cranking out great stories as they cope with fewer resources and smaller staffs.

For many publications, freelancers have become the answer to making life easier. And CNPA can help further by strengthening this collaboration.

CNPA is inviting freelancers to apply for full membership to our organization to foster better

communication with our member publications.

With our new private online portal where members can talk with one another, editors will get to

know available freelancers better. Freelancers in turn will be able to pitch ideas and let editors
know their availability. It’s a better way of working together for the good of our industry.

With a membership of $100 a year, freelancers will also gain access to other CNPA resources such as

educational opportunities and seminars, the legal helpline and a chance to enter our annual

With encouragement from member editors and publishers to join them in CNPA, the addition of

freelancers will make the organization stronger to battle the challenges of our industry — together.
