The Weeklys publishing group has acquired the assets of the Healdsburg Tribune, the company announced in a news release.
The Tribune had announced that it would cease printing with its April 28 issue.
“We didn’t want to see a treasured newspaper lost,” said Dan Pulcrano, Weeklys’ executive editor and CEO. “We moved the Bohemian’s office to Healdsburg in 2020 and love the community. Residents here have worked hard to maintain community journalism and we intend to give the community a voice and local information every week.”
The Healdsburg Tribune had continued in print after the former Sonoma West Publishers established nonprofit ownership and continued with local coverage as SoCoNews.org.
Longtime Group Publisher Rollie Atkinson retired in March.
Weeklys adds the acquisition to its portfolio of eight local and six regional weeklies
