Whitney Prout has joined the CNPA Services Inc. team as staff attorney.

Prout, a McGeorge School of Law alum, had been policy and compliance counsel at the California Apartment Association for two years. In that role, she worked on housing-related issues in the Legislature, advocated on behalf of members’ interests in administrative rule-making and judicial forums, taught educational seminars and provided guidance to members on the association’s helpline.

Prout previously was a law clerk and then an attorney in a private law firm in Sacramento, where she litigated civil cases.

“I a.m. excited about Whitney joining CNPA’s Governmental Affairs team,” said CNPA General Counsel Jim Ewert. “G.A. staff will be grappling with a lot of legislative issues again this year and Whitney is poised to help CNPA put its best foot forward.”

Nikki Moore, CNPA’s former legal counsel, is now counsel at the California Assembly Public Safety Committee.
